My name is Terri Groh and I'm a follower of Jesus, a wife, mother of three adults, author and woman in ministry. My desire is to encourage other women in their faith. My blog is a mixture of faith, encouragement, devotionals and inspiration for women in today's world.
I changed the header of my blog last night. As I searched for a picture to represent my life, I chose a loaf of bread. Why bread, you may ask?
Jesus is called the Bread of Life and my faith and relationship with Christ is the most important thing in my life. He provides me with life-giving sustenance. He fills me up and satisfies me in ways that temporal things cannot do. He is the reason I can get up out of bed each day and move forward in hope.
Bread is also representative of one of my love languages. I find meaning and fulfillment in service whether that is feeding a crowd of people, helping someone with a task, or gifting someone with something.
Bread represents comfort to me. I love bread both making and eating it. A meal doesn't seem like a meal without a loaf of bread or a basket of rolls and biscuits. I love to provide care and encouragement to others either through my words, my acts of service or my writing.
And finally, bread represents family to me. It reminds me of family meals and times in the kitchen. A loaf of bread reminds me of when my children were little, money was tighter, and bread helped to make a meal stretch.
I thought a loaf of bread would represent my blog and my life better than anything else could do!
